Sauna Fiber Optic Series information and installation instructions

Finally possible, a starry sky on the roof of the sauna! 96 luminous stars, a silent LED projector, all installation accessories and full installation instructions. A new generation of LED projector, with several options.

Slowly, good things come. For almost 15 years, we have wanted to be the first to solve an overwhelmingly difficult equation: a starry sky that is abundant, tolerates the temperature of the sauna ceiling and is affordable. A bright and silent LED projector has also been developed, available in several versions.

In daylight almost inconspicuous
No lumpy lenses, no plastic, fusible plugs. The stars are only 4 mm in diameter and are mounted flush with the panel surface. The stars are made of heat-resistant glass. No fixing rings or lugs are placed on the ceiling. Fixing is done when the roof is panelled to the top of the panel. Each fibre has its own bracket, to which the lens is also attached, and everything is hidden except for the tiny 4 mm glass plug. As long as there is no light, the glass surface takes its shade from the wood panels and is truly unobtrusive. Turn on the power and wow! the panels come to life.

LED Projector

As a light source, we offer white light in different shades or combinations, but also a multi-color (rgb) light-producing projector or a combination of white light and RGB. There are several options:

1. Static white light, 3 different options: warm white (3000K), neutral white (4000K) or 1/3 of the stars are warm white, 1/3 neutral white and 1/3 cool white. No twinkle, an external dimmer can be connected to the projector. Total power 10 W.

2.Dynamic light RGB : colour change, can be stopped and changed by remote control. Total power 2 W.

3.Dynamic light white : twinkle, can be stopped and changed program by remote control. Options : warm white (3000K), neutral white (4000K) or 1/3 of the stars are warm white, 1/3 neutral white and 1/3 cool white. Total power 10 W.

4.Premium 1. White shades can be selected, as above (select from the menu). In addition, the bottom light control. Affects the intensity of the twinkle effect: the higher the base light, the less the twinkle effect rises over the base light. This feature makes the light effects even more peaceful. Total power 10 W.

5.Premium 2. White shades can be selected, as above (select from the menu). In addition to white, the aperture can be mixed with RGB light

– Electronic twinkle effect with remote control. Various programs for light behavior. Control can be done optionally for either white light or RGB colors separately

– Adjusting the base light affects the intensity of the twinkle effect: the higher the floor light, the less the twinkle effect rises over the base light. This feature makes the light effects even more peaceful.

– A dedicated remote control is supplied for RGB light. The functions that can be adjusted by the remote controls have memory: between power off and switching on again, all settings are retained. It’s easy to control the lights only for example. on and off from the wall switch. Total power 12 W.

Safe assembly

Only the fibre optic cables and lens mounts are installed inside the roof. There will be no electrical components above the sauna. The projector can be placed on the other side of the wall, e.g. lowering the roof of the washroom. A small projector does not need a separate mounting space, just the space provided by the bracket (usually 45-50 mm) is sufficient. The service hatch is essential for all technical equipment. The building’s vapour barriers are not broken, the fibres pass through the ventilation gap. The minimum space requirement is 22 mm. The structure of the lens is completely sealed, no moisture can reach the upper surface of the panel, (which is a ventilated space if the sauna is correctly panelled). The lens components are made of silicone, heat-resistant glass and brass.
Long life, easy to maintain when needed
The projector has a modular design and comes with a separate power supply. If necessary, a new module can be installed quickly and easily.

Optical fibres

Instead of the traditional 0.75 mm fibre, a 1.0 mm fibre is used, which is 1.8 x more luminous than a thinner fibre. Just one hundred fibres provide a level of illumination that requires no other lighting, except for possible cleaning light. The fibre bundles are ingeniously designed, with 15 fibres in each bundle, in a choice of lengths. The basic package contains 6 bundles, giving a total of 96 stars. By adding an extra module and another 96 fibres to the projector, you get a total of 192 stars, enough for a slightly larger sauna. If required, bundles can also be ordered in special lengths.

Stove light

The starry sky does not contain any specific heated light. If for some reason you want one, you can connect an LED heater light or several LED heater lights, available in different shades and colours, to the power supply of the LED projector, plus a colour-changing so-called “LED light”. rainbow-skinned. Kiuasled works independently and lights up at the same time as the starry sky, but is in no way synchronised with e.g. the changing colours of the starry sky, etc. A separate switch turns the heater lights on or off separately if required.

Accessories package
The sauna starlight kit comes with all the necessary installation materials, the necessary drill bits for the wood, a screw pin for the lens mount and a small screwdriver as a giveaway. The only tools required are scissors or sharp side cutters and a cordless drill, without which the installation will surely be too laborious. The package comes with complete installation instructions that you should follow.

Installation

Suitable for sauna ceilings, where the recommended panel thickness is 15-25 mm. Installation on a 14 mm panel is also possible, but the work requires more precision than usual. A starry sky on the roof of a sauna can also be installed by yourself, with the exception of some power supply models, everything else can be legally installed by anyone. The steps are described in detail in the instructions. Of course, experience in various “handicrafts” is an advantage, the kit contains a lot of small parts. The work is done in conjunction with the panelling, the fasteners can be put on the pre-sawed panels already, but the fibre itself is attached just before the panel is nailed to the ceiling. Fibres should always have a small installation margin. The fibre bundles also need to be pulled transversely to the roof trim, it is best to cut or drill a hole in the trim at those points, the cutting points or holes should be made so as not to hit the panel nailing. Fibres should not be pulled one by one under the edging. Installation requires the presence of two people, unless the stars are only installed in a very short area of the panel.

Why do I need a Sauna Fibreglass Kit for my sauna roof?

Over the years, some daredevils have been heard to install a simple starry sky fibre package on the roof of their sauna. In a sauna with exceptionally low heat, it has some chance of surviving for years. But no one can know at what moment the temperatures will be exceeded and the ends of the fibres will start to brown and the light will stop. If your dealer sells the basic set for sauna use, the risk of a short life span of the product is real. In the worst case, the first sauna destroys the ends of the ordinary starry sky fibre. The same applies to packages with plastic “lenses”. The hot spots make a mockery of the plastic. On the outside of the sauna roof, i.e. at the top of the sauna, plastic has no chance of survival.
Our “Sauna Starry Sky Set” is a long-tested product and the result of years of development.

We provide a 3-year warranty on all parts of the kit installed according to the instructions.
